The Application Discovery server may not start
automatically on a Windows CMS when VSE is installed by Insight Control
Management. In this case, the following red text error message will
be displayed when the “Workload” tab in VSE is selected:
Communication with the Application Discovery server failed.
This will prevent successfully viewing or modifying workloads
currently defined with application criteria. Application Discovery
operation may also be affected. See the Application Discovery help
for assistance in resolving the issue. |
To fix this problem, start the Application Discovery
server after installing VSE software on a Windows CMS, using the following
steps:
Log on to the CMS as the Administrator.
Open a command line window.
Change the current directory to the VSE installation
directory and run the cms_init script that is
in the bin subdirectory, as shown in the following
commands. This example assumes that the default VSE installation directory
was selected when HP Insight Dynamics – VSE was installed.
