You may see error messages if VSE Management Software is causing HP SIM to exceed available memory. With HP Capacity Advisor, you would see the following message:
With HP Global Workload Manager, both the following messages would appear as critical HP SIM events (gWLM events), assuming you have events configured. Also, they are logged to /var/opt/gwlm/gwlm.log.0 on HP-UX or to installation-path/logs/gwlm.log.0 on Windows. The first message warns when the heap is almost full:
The second message indicates the heap is full:

It does this by updating/appending the JVMMAXHEAP property in the file globalsettings.props, leaving the property as follows: JVMMAXHEAP=1000 On HP-UX, the properties file is at /etc/opt/mx/config/globalsettings.props. On Windows, it is at HPSIM_DIR/config/globalsettings.props. If you rarely get the error, restarting HP SIM (as indicated in the message) typically clears the issue. If you frequently get the error, you may want to:
However, repeated occurence of the message most likely reflects a product issue that you should report to HP support. |
