Select the Shared Resource Domain tab to access Global Workload Manager (gWLM). Global Workload Manager improves both workload performance and resource utilization in a shared compute environment. For servers partitioned with nPartitions, virtual partitions, virtual machines, psets, or FSS groups, gWLM can do the following:

  • Monitor each application.

  • Determine the CPU resources needed by each application.

  • Automatically migrate CPU resources between partitions to where they are needed most. This migration improves application performance by making more resources available to the application at times of peak demand. In addition, migrating idle resources to the applications that are busy increases processor utilization.

Additional information about gWLM is provided in the online help and in the following document:

  • HP Global Workload Manager Version 4.0 User's Guide
