This section describes known issues that do not have a significant
impact on functionality or usability of VM Manager. Suggestions for
working around these issues are included.
A Virtual Machine Deleted Soon After Being Created Might Appear
in Virtualization Manager |
 |
When using VM Manager from HP SIM with VSE, if you create a
virtual machine and then delete it before the new virtual machine
has been identified by HP SIM, the virtual machine might appear in
Virtualization Manager as though it had not been deleted. The appearance
of the virtual machine in Virtualization Manager depends on when the
deletion occurred during the HP SIM identification process.
This is not an issue when using VM Manager from HP SMH.
Create Virtual Machine Wizard Next Steps Instructions Display Incorrect Command |
 |
The Next Steps screen that appears after
you create a virtual machine using the VM Manager Create Virtual Machine
wizard includes instructions for accessing the console. The instructions
incorrectly advise specifying the -F option with
the hpvmconsole command.
Do not specify the -F option. Specify the
command as follows, where vmname is the
virtual machine name:
hpvmconsole -P vmname
White Space Embedded with Data Might Be Displayed Incorrectly
in Some VM Manager Views |
 |
Due to an issue with the Java CIM client, some screens (such
as the screen displayed by selecting View
VM Manager Version Information...) incorrectly display embedded white space in data fields.
Some or all of the embedded white space might be omitted. For example,
the version strings displayed on the VM Manager Version screen might be displayed as in the following example in which all
white spaces are omitted:
HPVMA.03.50clearcaseoptWedMar12200805h58m31sPDT
The same version string displayed correctly is as follows:
HPVM A.03.50 clearcaseopt Wed Mar 12 2008 05h58m31s
PDT
This issue has been seen only when using VM Manager from HP
SMH. It has not been seen when using VM Manager from HP SIM with VSE
Management Software.
Either exit from the current screen and return to it again,
or if the Refresh Data link is present on the
screen you are viewing, click it one or more times until the data
displays correctly.
