For HP-UX 11i v2 and higher, you can download the SD software for free from the Web. This download allows you to quickly and easily receive the
latest SD updates and defect fixes. If you prefer, you can still get the SD software as part of each OE release. Of course, with the OE release you also have
access to all software contained in the OE, not just the SD software.
Click the following download link to register and download the SD software: You can install SD from a depot file with the swinstall command.
For example, to install SD_B.11.23.0706.063_HP-UX_B.11.23_IA+PA.depot from
the /var/tmp/ directory, you could use this command string: swinstall \
-x mount_all_filesystems=false \
-s /var/tmp/SD_B.11.23.0706.063_HP-UX_B.11.23_IA+PA.depot \

You can roll back, or downdate, to a previous version of SD. For example,
to downdate to SD_B.11.23.0505.018_HP-UX_B.11.23_IA+PA.depot
from the /var/tmp/ directory, you could use this command
string: swinstall \
-x mount_all_filesystems=false \
-x allow_downdate=true \
-s /var/tmp/SD_B.11.23.0505.018_HP-UX_B.11.23_IA+PA.depot \

For releases prior to HP-UX 11i v2, follow the patch process to download
the SD software updates. To download or to get more information about a specific patch use the
following steps: Go to the HP IT Resource Center (ITRC). Under the maintenance and support (hp products) heading,
click patch/firmware database. Enter your user ID and password when prompted. (You can also
sign up for free ITRC services if you are a new user. Your support contract
may entitle you to additional services.) Under the find a specific patch heading,
enter the patch ID number in the search field, and click the search icon. Select from the search results for complete patch information,
including download instructions.
