The following fixes have been made to the HP-UX 11.0 version of the igelan (GigEther-01) driver in the March 2004 release:

  • JAGae90312(8606329188):The igelan interface hung when transmitting traffic on systems with 4GB of memory or more.

  • JAGae87327(8606325037): In the event of auto negotiation failures during initialization of 1000Base-T, interfaces might have lead to data corruption or HPMC.

  • JAGae83994(8606321526):If the igelan driver's initialization failed, some data structures were not freed.

  • JAGae83740(8606321261): If there was an error in processing flow control or autonegotiation changes, the original values were not restored.

  • JAGae82308(8606319820):The latest Gigabit Ethernet documentation will no longer be updated under the /opt/networkdocs directory.

  • JAGae74614(8606311793):The igelan driver startup script, hpigelan, issued a “Bad speed value” error in the file /etc/rc.log, when the LANG environment variable was not set to “C”.

  • JAGae68085(8606305036): The interface may not have operated correctly when the system had more than 127 LAN interfaces. This condition could be identified by large or duplicate values for instance number (PPA) as seen in lanscan command output.

  • JAGae64577(8606301107): When the transmit cable of 1000Base-SX card was disconnected, the LED showed link up while the igelan driver state as reported in “lanadmin -x card_info PPA” was IGELAN_OFFLINE.

  • JAGae52056(8606288123): If in /etc/rc.config.d/hpigelanconf, an interface was configured to have a subgigabit speed setting, then a user might not have been able to configure Jumbo MTU on subsequent interfaces.

  • JAGae49858(8606285917): “lanadmin -x speed PPA” did not return the last user requested speed/duplexity setting when the link was down.

  • JAGae46291(8606282339): SAM didn’t display errors during the igelan interface configuration.

  • JAGae96962(8606335908):An empty line printed when the user specified the help flag for lanadmin -X/-x options.

  • JAGae93351(8606332231): A defect in the implementation of the multicast algorithm could have resulted in kernel data corruption leading to a panic.

  • JAGae86818(8606324353): Some TCP/UDP applications might experience hangs or extremely poor networking performance over an igelan interface.

  • JAGae58233(8606294536): igelan driver printed out warning message during initialization.

  • JAGae64445(8606300975): On an A6847A 1000Base-SX card, if the TX cable (link partner's RX cable) was disconnected or broken, system responsiveness could degrade.

  • JAGae94668(8606333580): Flow control changes didn't cause autonegotiation to restart for the 1000Base-T cards.

  • JAGae78851(8606316134): Nettl error logs indicating link partner was half-duplex were logged needlessly for the 1000Base-SX cards.

  • JAGaf03465(8606342571): When a large number of multicast addresses were enabled on an interface, an application retrieving the multicast list from that interface might have seen an incomplete list or incorrect addresses.
