In some cases, a port is set to run LACP or FEC, but the link partner does not run the same or the port cannot be trunked. The port will remain not trunked, but still running one of the two automatic negotiation protocols. You can typically see these ports on the APA main page.

To stop the LACP or FEC automatic negotiation protocol on a selected port, do the following:

  1. Select a port with LACP or FEC in the APA main page to display the detailed view of the port information.

NOTE: You can only stop the LACP or FEC protocol on a port that is not in a link aggregate.
  2. Click Stop LACP/FEC Protocol to display the Stop LACP/FEC Protocol page.

  3. Select the Configuration Options you want, if different from the default.

  4. Click OK to stop the LACP or FEC protocol. An Operation Successful page appears, confirming the stopping of the protocol and the updating of the APA configuration.

  5. Click OK. The APA main page displays.

By default, SMH changes the current APA configuration and saves the information and APA configuration to the /etc/rc.config.d/hp_apaconf, /etc/rc.config.d/hp_apaportconf, and /etc/lanmon/lanconfig.ascii files, which maintains the Stop LACP/FEC Protocol changes across reboots.
