Such a map should include:

  • Approximate dimensions of the building or room containing the 100VG-AnyLAN network.

  • Location of nodes and node connections.

  • Hostname of each node.

  • Internet Address, Station Address, and Alias of each node (in the case of gateways, each 100VG-AnyLAN card has its own Internet Address, Station Address, and Alias).

  • Hardware Path of each 100VG-AnyLAN card.

  • Version number of the operating system installed on each node.

Figure -2 shows an example network map. Table - 3 shows a sample worksheet that you can use to gather information for HP 9000 systems such as those shown on the map.
