You can use the minimum HPDPS configuration as a starting
point for a complete, functional HPDPS print environment. The following
figure shows a minimum configuration with an HPDPS client and two
servers, called the spooler and the supervisor, all installed on
the same processor.
The HPDPS client processes HPDPS printing,
configuration and management commands, and displays information.
The client provides a command-line interface, which allows users
to issue print requests and allows you to manage your distributed
print environment. You can also manage your distributed print environment
with SAM.
The HPDPS server accepts
print requests from the client, performs requested operations, and
sends responses back to the client.
