Starting with the HP-UX 11i v3 March 2009 release, OnlineDiag will be in the obsolescence mode on the following HP servers:

  • HP 9000 servers

  • Intel® Itanium® Montvale processor-based HP Integrity servers and earlier

HP will address only the critical and serious defects raised in OnlineDiag.

OnlineDiag is discontinued on all new servers beyond the Intel® Itanium® Montvale processor-based HP Integrity servers. To plan for OnlineDiag discontinuance, you must migrate from the EMS-based hardware diagnostics solution to the WBEM-based hardware diagnostics solution. New features and enhancements to server hardware diagnostics will be available only on WBEM-based hardware diagnostics solution and not on EMS-based hardware diagnostics solution. Therefore, HP recommends that you use the WBEM-based hardware diagnostics solution for monitoring the health of the HP-UX systems.

The WBEM-based hardware diagnostics solution is available on the OE media and on the Web. The migration from EMS-based to WBEM-based hardware diagnostics solution includes, installing the latest version of the product bundles for the following products:

  • OnlineDiag

  • SysFaultMgmt

  • SASPROVIDER

  • FCPROVIDER

  • RAIDSAPROVIDER

  • WBEMP-Storage

For more information about migrating from EMS-based solution to the WBEM-based solution, see Chapter 2.
