This section describes how to remove the Online Diagnostics software using the TUI and the CLI.

CAUTION: Removing the Online Diagnostics software makes your system vulnerable to failure. Moreover, all the software products that depend on the Online Diagnostics software may not work properly.

Removing the Software Using the TUI

To remove the Online Diagnostics software from your system using the TUI, complete the following steps:

  1. Log in to the system as superuser.

  2. Enter the following command at the HP-UX prompt:

    # swremove

  3. Select OnlineDiag in the SD Remove window.

  4. Select Actions->Mark for Remove in the SD Remove window.

  5. Select Actions->Remove.

  6. Click OK in the Remove Analysis window to confirm the removal of the Online Diagnostics software.

    When the Online Diagnostics software is removed, the Remove Window is displayed.

  7. To verify whether the Online Diagnostics software is removed properly, enter the following command at the HP-UX prompt:

    # swlist | grep OnlineDiag

    If the Online Diagnostics software is removed properly, OnlineDiag and the version number of the Online Diagnostics software do not appear in the output. If the Online Diagnostics software is not removed properly, you must repeat the removal procedure. For more information, see “Verifying Removal of the Software”.

Removing the Software Using the CLI

To remove the Online Diagnostics software from your system using the CLI, complete the following steps:

  1. Log in to the system as a superuser.

  2. Enter the following command at the HP-UX prompt:

    # swremove OnlineDiag

  3. To verify whether the Online Diagnostics software is removed properly, enter the following command at the HP-UX prompt:

    # swlist | grep OnlineDiag

    If the Online Diagnostics software is removed properly, OnlineDiag and the version number of the Online Diagnostics software do not appear in the output. If the Online Diagnostics software is not removed properly, you must repeat the removal procedure. For more information, see “Verifying Removal of the Software”.
