IPC File Status

The IPC File Status check provides the ability for DeskMon to check and
report whether a given IPC (Inter-Process Communications) file exceeds a
pre-defined limit.

   * To see a list of the files currently being checked, press OTHER
       KEYS F7 and LIST F2.

   * To add a file to the list, complete the screen form and press ADD
       F2.

   * To modify an entry in the list, get the entry by typing the file
name and pressing GET F5. Change the details on the screen and
       then press MODIFY F6.

   * To delete a file from the list, get the entry concerned by typing
the file name and pressing GET F5. Then press DELETE F3.

The fields on the screen are as follows:

IPC Filename

The fully qualified MPE file name (including any lockword) of the IPC
file to be checked. For example:

     FILENAME[/lockword].GROUP.ACCOUNT

IPC files can only be checked if MGR.HPOFFICE has read or append access
to the file.

Limit

The maximum number of records in the IPC file after which DeskMon will
send notification.

Check

If you want DeskMon to check the status of this IPC file, type Y. If you
do not want DeskMon to check the status of this IPC file, type N.

Report to

The Report Category to which you want DeskMon to report when it finds
that the record limit specified for this IPC file has been exceeded.

An error message is generated and sent to the specified Report Category
if:

   * The number of records found in the IPC file exceeds the limit
       specified; or

   * A file system error is encountered when attempting to open the IPC
       file.
