Job Status

The Job Status check provides the ability to check and report if a
particular job is present on the system and in a pre-defined state.

	       Click here to view figure.

   * To see a list of the jobs currently being checked, press OTHER
       KEYS F7 and LIST F2.

   * To add a job to the list, complete the screen form and press ADD
       F2.

   * To modify an entry in the list, first get the entry by typing the
       job name and pressing GET F5 . Change the details on the screen
       and then press MODIFY F6.

   * To delete a job from the list, get the entry concerned by typing
       the job name and pressing GET F5. Then press DELETE F3.

The fields on the screen are:

Job Name

This is the name of the Job to be checked and must be in the format:

     [JOBNAME,]USER.ACCOUNT

The JOBNAME, USER and ACCOUNT must be alphanumeric and start with a
letter. JOBNAME is optional but recommended. An example of a job name
is SUPRVISR,MGR.HPOFFICE.

Jobs do not have to be related to HP DeskManager. For example, if
you use the third-party product UNISPOOL, you could check that
SPOOL,UNISPOOL.SYS is executing.

Status

A single digit code representing the status which you expect the job to
be in when DeskMon checks for it:

       0 = EXECuting.
       1 = WAITing to be launched.
       2 = SUSPended.
       3 = INTROduced just a few moments ago.

Check

If you want DeskMon to check on the status of this job, type Y. If you do
not want DeskMon to check on the status of this job, type N.

Report to

The Report Category to which you want DeskMon to report when it finds
this job in a different state to that which you expected.

An error message is generated and sent to the specified Report Category
if:

   * The job is not found on the system; or
   * The job is not in the expected state.
