Creating a Transaction File or Session Profile File

If you press Create File the following screen appears:

Every Transaction File and Session Profile file must have a tt_body_type
record as its first entry and this screen prompts you for values for all
of its modifiable fields. Tab through the fields typing the relevant
values in each and then press Append Complete. If you are using the
User Intrinsics or creating a Session Profile file, the screen shown
below will not be displayed, so skip over the instructions given here.
If you are using the Gateway Intrinsics and are creating a Transaction
File, the following screen appears:

This screen is used to specify whether you are using foreign address
aliases or explicit foreign addresses and, if so, the length of these
fields in bytes. You may:

   * Type the name of the Session Profile file containing the 100100
transaction type record which gives foreign address information,
       in the Session Profile field.

   * Type the length of your foreign address aliases or explicit
foreign addresses in the Option 1 Length field. If you use both
foreign address aliases and explicit foreign addresses, type the
length of the explicit foreign address in the Option 2 Length
       field.

Press Profile Entered. The following screen appears:

Continue creating your required Transaction File by typing the number of
the next record you want entered in it (for example, 5000) then pressing
Type No. Entered. The Transaction File Editor will not allow you to add
transaction types in the wrong order, for example, a Group 2 transaction
type after a Group 3 transaction type. If you decide to add a Group 2
transaction type after you have added a Group 3 transaction type, you
will have to add the Group 2 transaction type in its correct place once
you have finished the create, by editing the file. This is explained
later in this chapter.

NOTE If you use both foreign address aliases and explicit foreign addresses, the creation of transaction types 10000, 20400, 21000, 21100, 21200, 21300, 30200 and 30400 differs from normal. There is not enough room on the screen to show the Additional user information (Option 2): field. Once you have completed the fields shown on the first screen, press Append Complete. A screen appears containing the Additional user information (Option 2): field. Complete this and press Append Complete. The process then continues normally as described below.
Continue creating transaction types until the file is complete. Then press No More Appends at the screen where you are prompted for the next transaction type number. The function keys at the bottom of your screen change. Press Save Changes. You are prompted for the name you want to give the file you have just created. Type this; if you do not want the file to be stored in the sign on group and account you will have to give this information too. Press Filename Entered. Your Transaction File is saved and you are returned to the initial Transaction File Editor screen.
